Close Encounters
What's going on ...? This is the recent printed illustration I did for The Canadian Sportsman. I had a lot of fun with this piece and again I didn't have to draw any horses! Brilliant!
Here's the first sketch I did:
And the second one:
As you can see they went with the first sketch, check out the inks:

Does hairspray incapacitate aliens? Are the cats in league with the aliens? So many questions ...
I think they went with the right choice. The composition in the other sketch is a little odd for a stand-alone illustration (though would work great as a comic panel).
It's a great picture, and I love the look on the guy with the butterfly net. My only complaint is that the dude in bed is strange, anatomically speaking. I know he's curled up, but his legs are a little higher than I think they'd be. But a minor complaint.
what friggin sport is that?
Hey Evan ... the article is about the dude's experiences when he stayed at this farm (the guy in the bed) ... so I kinda overdosed everything that happened in one illo ... it's pretty overwhelming but it makes a messed up image ....
The guy with the hairspray would chase bats around with the hairspray and a butterfly net ... he was a weirdo ...
As for the guy in the bed ... he's a midget ... hence his body proportions ... hahahaha ... just kiddin' ... thanks for catching that ... you get a No-Prize ... hahahaha ... remember that?
Uh, to get a No-Prize, I'd have to explain why his body is like that. Jeez, Tyrone.
Where is bigfoot, Dracula, Jason, Chuckie, silverfish, cockraoches, bees, Sheet Ghosts, and the Mummy?
